This is Robert Dawe's third CD. 2004 sees the celebration of 50 years of performance in opera, oratorio and on the concert platform. He has performed more than 150 concerts and radio broadcasts for the ABC. Recent State Opera performances have included "Romeo and Juliette", "Tosca", "Parsifal", "Don Giovanni" and "On the Beach". Robert Dawe has been a part time lecturer in voice at the Elder Conservatorium since 1981 and is also choir master and voice teacher at Prince Alfred College. In 1989 he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (O.A.M.) in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. Robert lives at Crafers in the Adelaide Hills with his wife Ann and their cocker spaniel "Molly".
Mark Symons and Robert Dawe attended Prince Alfred College together as students and Mark plays the organ for any school services which are held at Wesley. Mark Symons is Adjunct Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of South Australia and an associate of the Royal College of Organists. He was awarded an AM in the 2004 Australia Day honours list.
Anne Adamek and Robert Dawe have been associates since the late 1950's, when they were both students. Anne Adamek - pianist, repetiteur and vocal coach- is a lecturer in vocal repertoire at the Elder Conservatorium of Music and lectured to accompanists at the Flinders Street School of Music prior to its amalgamation with the Elder School of Music in 2003.
Ashleigh Tobin and Robert Dawe have been associates for 40 years. Ashleigh graduated from the University of Adelaide with first class honours in composition, later completing the degree of Master of Music in Organ performance before being awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Music. He retired as Senior Lecturer in keyboard and theoretical studies at the University of the Adelaide's Elder School of Music at the beginning of 2004 and now lectures on a part time basis. He has been Principal Organist of St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral since 1993.
